Provide secure scalable disaster recovery of your production cloud and on-premises workloads with Azure Site Recovery (ASR)

Replication Source

Site Recovery supports replication from a various range of sources, including vmware, Hyper-V, Azure and AWS.  Windows and Linux servers are both supported.

Data Resilience

Site Recovery orchestrates replication without intercepting application data. When you replicate to Azure, data is stored in Azure storage, with the resilience that Azure provides. When failover occurs, Azure VMs are created, based on the replicated data.

Meet your Recovery and Data Sovereignty requirements

Continuous replication at intervals as low as 30 seconds so you can ensure that you can easily meet your Recovery Time Objective and Recovery Point Objective  targets - saving money while not having to pre-provision storage or hardware. You can also control the regions where your data is replicated

Application Consistency Failover

You can replicate using recovery points with application-consistent snapshots. These snapshots capture disk data, all data in memory, and all transactions in progress, including across multiple VMs with Multi-VM consistency.

Planned Failovers and Simulated Tests

You can run planned failovers for expected outages with zero-data loss, or unplanned failovers with minimal data loss (depending on replication frequency) for unexpected disasters. You can easily fail back to your primary site when it's available again. Simulated tests can also be run as often as needed, without affecting ongoing replication.

Customised Recovery Plans

sing recovery plans, it is possible to customize and sequence the failover and recovery of multi-tier applications running on multiple VMs. You group machines together in a recovery plan, and optionally add scripts and manual actions. Recovery plans can be integrated with Azure automation runbooks.
