The client had a strategic direction to transition to a hybrid infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model. There was, however, a need for clarity and specific details on how to move forward. The client has many and diverse ICT stakeholders, both internal and external. It was imperative that the transition was adequately planned and that their workloads were prioritised to align with the stated strategy direction.
Olikka helped the client establish a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). This model allows clients to migrate efficiently, in terms of cost and speed. It also improves organisational agility.
Following six proven steps, Olikka helped the client build and manage their CCoE which included forming the team, setting goals, securing quick wins and communicating the CCoE process throughout the organisation.
The customer has hybrid cloud artefacts, agreed upon by all stakeholders, and inclusive of a high-level design and a roadmap that was costed out. Stakeholders now have more detail and clarity around the pending move towards a hybrid cloud infrastructure. Through this improved understanding, they can better plan for this significant strategic change.
