Challenge
Sometime ago, I worked with a customer on an Amazon WorkSpaces migration project to provide a secure and highly available desktop environment. The project ran smoothly, and the customer was very happy. However, there was a growing issue concerning file services, in particular, how the customer was to deal with file server storage while ensuring high availability of file services.
Outcome
Amazon had released a solution called Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, providing a solution to alleviate the customers pain points. Amazon FSx proved to be cost-effective and made it easy to launch and run fully-managed file systems. FSx, allowed the customer to leverage features and fast performance of widely-used open source and commercially-licensed file systems while cutting down on time-consuming admin tasks such as hardware provisioning, configuration, patching, and backups.
